Jayelin Parker is a research associate on Project SWERVE, a study that focuses on substance use and HIV care among sexual and gender minority youth in the Southeast Michigan. Jayelin holds a master’s degree in public health from Michigan State University and bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Michigan-Flint. Prior to working at The Center for Sexuality and Health Disparities, Jayelin worked with the Pediatric Public Health Initiative in Flint, Michigan, on a fruit and vegetable prescription program, targeting underprivileged communities. Jayelin’s research interests include women’s health, maternal and child health, food security and nutrition, and gender and LGBTQ health equity.
